coke zero vs diet coke nutrition facts

  • Every month we will take each of your queries and ask an expert in-house at Coca-Cola Great Britain to answer the question. This month, it's Health and Nutrition Manager Anna Wheeler's turn to answer...

I understand the source of the confusion. The two drinks coke zero sugar vs diet coke allows you to enjoy your favorite soda without the calories and sugar you receive from Coca-Cola Classic.

This is because both varieties are made with identical sweetness enhancers (aspartame and acesulfame K) and, therefore, they're both free of calories and sugar, without compromising the taste.

But in terms of flavor, they differ. Coca-Cola Zero Sugar looks and tastes more similar to Coca-Cola Classic, while Diet Coke is lighter in flavor because it's made using an entirely different mix of flavors - or comes with a distinct flavor basis, some claim.

There's a saying that there's a Coca-Cola that's available to all. As with all our drinks, they're both Diet Coke and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar are available in a variety of sizes and shapes which includes 250ml bottles to drink on the go or 1.75L bottles to store in the fridge to share with loved ones and friends. Whatever your reasons for wanting to drink a Coca-Cola Zero Sugar drink, it shouldn't be a reason to limit your alternatives.

    Here's a piece of history...

Diet Coke has been around since the 1980s. Sugar free Diet Coke arrived in Great Britain in 1983, and the drink quickly became among the most loved drinks, with an extremely loyal following.

The iconic packaging in red and silver has become as famous in its own right as Coca-Cola Classic itself. From the famous 'Diet Coke break' television ads to collaborations with fashionistas such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs to produce limited-edition cans and bottles - it's been a true cultural phenomenon throughout the many years.

Coca-Cola Zero Sugar might be more recent to the game, but it's made an impact as a sugar-free substitute for Coca-Cola Classic. It launched in 2016 and has a fresh and better flavor and taste, following years of research and development. It was replaced by Coca-Cola Zero, which came out in the year 2006.
